Cadet Richard Shepard is given a chance to become one of these legendary soldiers, but things are not as they seem. Against his will, he is sent on a mission by a mysterious being known only as “the One” to help an elf priestess fight a demon and its army of undead.

Wizard scouts are the best of the best, but Richard is still a cadet in training. Will his skills and technology be enough to overcome dragons, demons, trolls, ghouls, and undead from his worst nightmare?
