Cadet Richard Shepard is given a chance to become one of these legendary soldiers, but things are not as they seem. Against his will, he is sent on a mission by a mysterious being known only as “the One” to help an elf priestess fight a demon and its army of undead.

Wizard scouts are the best of the best, but Richard is still a cadet in training. Will his skills and technology be enough to overcome dragons, demons, trolls, ghouls, and undead from his worst nightmare? Will his wizard scout abilities combined with the aid of his battle computer, Nickelo, and the magic of the elf priestess be enough to turn the tide?

With the fate of three galaxies in the balance, Richard is honor bound to do his best. The question is will his best be good enough?

Wizard scout cadet Richard Shepard’s mission is to retrieve a defecting scientist deep behind enemy lines. Simple, right? But as Richard learned long ago, nothing is ever simple. With a Crosioian scout hot on his trail, he finds himself stuck with a couple of genius kids who hold a secret that can mean the salvation of three galaxies. Between dodging plasma beams from heavily-armored soldiers, and battling werewolves, ogres, magic users and dimension-shifting cats the size of lions, Richard is way outside his mission parameters.

Even with the help of his battle computer, Nickelo, the odds of getting home safe is low. Add in the mysterious entity known as ‘the One’, and the odds of survival is almost nil. Will Richard’s wizard scout training prevail? Or is he doomed to fail? His only hope may be to find allies in the most unlikely of places. A sprinkling of luck wouldn’t hurt either.
