The Mermaid’s Lament by Alexes Razevich

When things of great value go missing, the desperate rich and the otherworldly turn to me. Rescue and recovery are my specialties, and I’m damn good at what I do.

So, it isn’t a surprise when one of the country’s wealthiest people hires me to retrieve a stolen pearl necklace known as The Mermaid’s Lament.

A straightforward job, I think—except the thief and the pearls have seemingly fallen off the Earth, the necklace is actually owned by a pissed-off sea goddess, and a whole slew of magicals are doing their best to stop me from finding it.

Oh, and the necklace has an intense magical power of its own.

With only a few days to find and return the Mermaid’s Lament or see my state drowned under seawater, the clock is definitely ticking.
