Dexia, a former telepathic behaviorist, now finds herself trapped in the unexplained and seemingly inescapable void with the man who tried to kill her just two weeks earlier. They’ll have to learn to trust each other to make it out alive, which can be extra complicated with all of the mind-reading and dream-sharing.

Meanwhile, Tycho faces his greatest challenge yet: intergalactic political committee meetings. He turns to subverting the absurdity of intergalactic law to save a people in danger and help his first human friend make it out of the void.
