There are no happy endings or hero vindications. No characters will save the day or make you feel good about anything. In fact, there’s a good chance you will dislike what you read, knowing that the path one takes leads them to certain doom, and yet there is nothing you can do about it. But you’ll read on, about a Mother’s demented idea of an apology or what a morsel of ancient flesh can do to one’s complexion. Yes, you’ll read on and on, about a twisted dystopian prison where you dream so others can live or why you shouldn’t stare into a stranger’s eyes. But the real reason you’ll continue to read on, is to guess which one of these stories is really your story.
