The Neon God by R.M. Gayler

Across the globe, computers and phones suddenly erupt with dazzling neon light, casting billions into a hypnotic trance. In the eerie calm following the global catastrophe, four survivors struggle to navigate a world ruled by a mysterious Alternate Intelligence.
Only a small percentage of humans are left unaffected, including a 22-year-old cocktail server, an 11-year-old autistic empath, a computer software engineer, and a few other brave survivors who are left with the harrowing task of navigating the apocalyptic landscape.
Their paths converge in the ruins of Las Vegas, where the survivors must face the Neon God in a final showdown. As the neon lights continue to spread, threatening to consume humanity forever, time is running out to save the world from a fate far worse than destruction.
