Ty and The Blood Fairy Prince by Mary R. Arman

Ty’s best friend, Sal shows up at his window one night with blood on his clothes and collapses. He’s got strange claw marks on his back. He’s taken to the hospital and Ty fears for his friends life. A few hours later his dad brings Sal to the house and after Sal has a conversation with his dad, he tells Ty something unbelievable and asks him to run away with him.
There’s a virus outbreak and only Sal has the cure. Once the outbreak is handled the boys take off on a roadtrip to find answers and save humanity.
