Private Investigator Aidra Scott has no room in her life, or her heart, for a pet. She’s got her hands full raising her teenage son, keeping her business afloat, and trying to understand her assistant, who is a computer genius she’s never actually met. She wants nothing to do with dogs. Certainly not a genetically engineered dog. Especially one that might be a killer.
Her name is Madeline, and she’s been engineered to be far smarter than any dog should be. Her owner insists her pet couldn’t kill a human, and hires Aidra to prove it.
But the more Aidra investigates, the more she’s convinced an innocent animal is being framed-and murder is only the beginning of the conspiracy.
