The Blue Race by Senan Mahon

The Blue Race is a far-future space opera, where humanity is entrenched in a cold war with an expansionist alien species, the Engus. The plot follows the exploits of a small human team who are vying to capture an abandoned artifact that will upset the balance of power. The protagonist, Heber, is a rare telepath from a dying race that suffered a genocide at the hands of the Engus. His pursuit of the fabled artifact takes him through a series of adventures accross the galaxy, that culminates in a thrilling finale. Themes include AI government, telepathy, espionage, exotic habitats and space travel.
